If you are new to the world of online Poker, the wealth of Poker related terminology might be a bit overwhelming at first. For that reason we have compiled this glossary. This list is not exhaustive, but we aim to provide you with a comprehensive reference that explains interesting and colorful internet terminology you are likely to encounter in the online casino world. Although it's not essential for you to be familiar with all these terms in order to play the game, they're still good to know.

  • Main Pot
    The first established pot before a player goes all-in and creates a side pot.
  • Maniac
    A Maniac is a very aggressive player who plays a lot of hands and does a lot of hyper-aggressive raising, betting, and bluffing. A true maniac is actually not a good player, but is simply doing a lot of gambling. However, a player who occasionally acts like a maniac can be quite dangerous and confuse his opponents.
  • Match the Pot
    To put in an amount equal to all the chips in the pot.
  • Micro-Limit
    Internet poker games with stakes so small that real cardrooms couldn't possibly profit from them, are said to be at the "micro-limit" level (e.g. 25¢-50¢).
  • Muck
    In card games like poker:

    1.) The pile of discards gathered facedown in the center of the table by the dealer.
    2.) To discard your hand, especially after an opponent reveals a better hand.
  • Muli-Way Pot
    A pot where several players compete for it. Also known as a family pot.
